Grassroot Project in South Africa

August 24, 2010 DC alum Stephen Nelson continued work for Grassroot Project a Practicum client based in Washington, DC. The Grassroot Project serves to educate at-risk youth from Washington D.C. about HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention by utilizing Division I "student-athlete" role models. Stephen created a secondary site, TeamUp, for the program. This fundraising effort sent middle school students to South Africa on a cultural exchange and HIV awareness program. As you’ll see, the campaign was successful, and the students traveled just in time to catch the World Cup! Check out Stephen's work.
