Media That Matters
The Practicum gives students access to a hands-on experience with a non-profit organization working to make a difference. Based on the premise that media matters, the Practicum is designed to empower students to complete a real-world project, while developing a network and a portfolio that will serve them professionally.
CDIA's Web Design Practicum provides students with practical experience by working on a real-world project under the direction of a faculty member. Students are guided by the constraints of a fixed timeframe and well-defined client deliverables. Students will gain confidence and better understand the professional expectations of the position they hold on the project. Students earn genuine production experience while refining the skills learned throughout the program.
The Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University is committed to creating an environment where students use digital media to enrich the community.
CDIA’s Web and Graphic Design students have created active websites for organizations in Greater Boston and beyond, including Conscious Consuming and EdVestors in Boston and The Lion Conservation Fund in Kenya.
