How Career Services at CDIA has helped CatholicTV
November 18, 2009 Just over 2 years ago CatholicTV posted an ad to fill an open entry-level production assistant position at our office in Watertown, MA. CDIA Career Services Co-Director Bruce Jaranian saw the job ad and contacted me directly to ask about the position and to explain the CDIA program. I had been in contact with career services at other colleges in Boston but never had any success, so I was a little skeptical about this process, too. Within a week, Mr. Jaranian had sent over 8 resumes and we were very impressed with the quality and knowledge of the candidates. We eventually offered the position to one of the CDIA candidates we interviewed and he was very technically sound. This allowed us to give him more challenging tasks very quickly and he was a great addition to our staff. Over the last 2 years we have CatholicTV has grown and has subsequently hired 3 additional CDIA graduates as production assistants and one as a producer. Each graduate has been very competent and has “hit the ground running”. The graduate’s hands-on preparation at CDIA has meant a much shorter learning curve once hired. Whenever we have a production opening Bruce Jaranian is one of our first phone calls.
Sincerely,
Rick Mosley
