Liz Hollerman – Program Director, Washington Campus

Liz is a 3D artist working primarily in gaming using Autodesk Maya. She received her MS at DePaul University, concentration in 3D Animation. She started out making educational Flash games for the US Geological Survey where she worked as a designer on Thibodeaux’s Treasure and Coastal Louisiana. Liz has also dabbled in Architectural Visualization, making fly-through animations of areas modeled using satellite information, as well as interiors modeled using CAD floor plans in 3D Studio Max. She then delved into the world of 3D gaming where she started as a character artist on independent projects making an unannounced Real-Time Strategy game. After working as a character artist, she switched to working on environments at Midway Amusement Games in Chicago, where she worked on such titles as Mortal Kombat vs DC Comics and Game Party 2.

Anthony Marquette – Associate Director, Waltham Campus

Anthony has over six years experience as a professional multimedia artist, working as both manager and graphic designer for Park Square Printing Inc. a Reprographics Corporation with multiple locations throughout the Boston area. Anthony has developed his skills as a freelance 3D generalist, teacher and personal tutor. His broad skill set has allowed him to incorporate elements of 3D Animation, Graphic, Web, Video Editing and User Interface Design into many varied freelance and independent projects. Anthony’s work has been featured by The Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s American History and Civics Initiative and by The United States Library of Congress during a Symposium demonstrating the application of 3D technology in historic preservation

Peter Anderson

Peter is a character artist with Turbine Entertainment in Westwood, MA, working on the critically acclaimed massive multiplayer online video game, Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. Prior to Turbine, Peter worked as a freelance contract artist for Electronic Arts, Sony Interactive and Vivendi Universal on such titles as Bulletproof, Everquest II and From Russia with Love. Prior to the gaming industry, Peter worked as a 3D generalist and illustrator for the Program Simulation Training and Instrumentation Command of the US Army in Orlando, FL. His illustration work has been published in newspapers such as The Boston Globe, The Miami Herald and The Chicago Tribune. Peter holds two degrees: a BFA in Illustration from the Ringling School of Art and Design and an AS in Digital Animation and Visual Effects from the Digital Animation and Visual Effects School.

Peter Eastwood

Peter has refined his skills as a multimedia production artist over the past eight years, working both for American Power Conversion (APC) and as a freelance 3D artist. Beginning his professional career in film editing and audio production, he moved quickly to 3D Industrial Modeling, prototyping and creating interactive videos and web-based tours from engineering schematics at APC. From product demonstrations and interactive tours, to simulations, page layout and package design, Peter was responsible for introducing and maintaining the entire 3D asset library for APC. He was also their chief technology director and internal Maya instructor, training the creative services staff in 3D content creation. Using Maya, After Effects, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools, Peter has created animations for video presentations, corporate videos, movie theater ads, online product tours and product renderings for magazine ads and retail packaging. Peter works on a freelance basis with APC and numerous production houses, including Sonalysts, Johnny Animation and Three- Headed Monster, working on TV commercials and online animations. He has an AS in Information Technology from the New England Institute of Technology and majored in English and Communications at the University of Rhode Island.

Ron Friedman
Ron Friedman comes from a performance background with over 17 years experience as an animator. Starting in traditional 2-D animation, he made the conversion to 3-D along with the rest of the industry and has never looked back. Ron has worked in feature animation (the Pagemaster, Swan Princess), visual effects animation (Van Helsing, Lemony Snicket, The Mist, Snakes On A Plane), and video game animation (City Of Heroes, Adam Blaster). Ron was Animation Supervisor for the Academy Award-nominated film “Pan’s Labyrinth” and was Animation Director on the videogame “Afro Samurai”. He is currently head of the Animation department for Tencent Boston in Concord, MA on an as-of-yet undisclosed videogame project.

Kiran Patwardhan

Kiran is a 3D animation instructor with knowledge in Maya, ZBrush, Flash, and the Adobe Production Suite. She first started learning 3D art while attending Brandeis University, where she also received a B.A. in History and Art History. She used her skills and knowldge as a digital artist, acting as the videographer and media editor for many school shows. Kiran has worked on freelance projects such as architectural visualization, logos and intros, and educational videos, including project for the World Health Organization and Boston Medical Center. She enjoys teaching and also has experience in project coordination and software training.

Brian Deans-Rowe

Brian recently completed working on the development of World of Zoo, a Nintendo Wii release from Blue Fang Games. As the Lead Character Artist, he focused on the creation and development of animals for the Character Editor.

Prior to joining Blue Fang Games, Brian was a Senior Modeler at Laika Entertainment, working on the pre-production of Jack and Ben’s Animated Adventure (unreleased, now canceled). Before joining the production, he contributed to building the production pipeline for Laika Entertainment as a Technical Director, and worked on several advertising campaigns as Lead Modeler for Laika House.

Brian gained the majority of his film experience while at DreamWorks Animation, beginning in 1995 as a programmer in the Research and Development Department. In 1997, Brian moved to the Modeling Department, where he contributed to Antz, the Academy Award winning Shrek, Shrek 2, and Madagascar. Some of the more notable character models Brian created are Shrek 2′s Fairy Godmother and Madagascar’s Melman the Giraffe. While at DreamWorks, Brian also worked as a Technical Director and a Lighting TD, expanding his knowledge of the animated film-making process.

With over eighteen years of experience in 3D animation, in both feature films and games, Brian possesses a unique blend of artistic and technical skills. Brian’s career in 3D began as a programmer with Alias Research, and later Apple Computer, building the tools he now uses today.

Throughout his career, Brian has pursued his interest in traditional art creation, taking courses in drawing and sculpting at the San Francisco Art Institute and the Art Gallery of Ontario School.
